Special Projects

EPIC frequently runs special projects, often partnering with other community organizations.

Here are the latest:

Youth Wellness Workshops :: 2019

We are pleased to announce that the Fyfe Foundation of Ontario has chosen EPIC to receive a one-time grant in response to our proposal to conduct Youth Wellness Workshops in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality. It is great validation indeed to be one of the first charities outside Ontario to have received funding from this family foundation.

Building on the experience of our Youth Employability Workshops, this program seeks to improve the social, emotional and academic outlook of marginalized youth ages 10-18, The funding will cover at least 520 hours of social-emotional wellness workshops to 100 different youth in six communities, including Sydney, Whitney Pier, Northside, New Waterford, Glace Bay and Eskasoni.

These workshops, taught by qualified staff recruited by EPIC management, will encourage the active engagement of the youth in topics such as Anger Management, Art Therapy, Writing, Cultural Crafts, Body Awareness, Mindfulness, and Healthy Relationships.
